Godshill Rock Solid is a club for young people in years 6-9, on Tuesday evenings 7-8:30, run by members of several churches in the Godshill area. It is run in partnership with Isle of Wight Youth for Christ, and is one of several Rock Solid clubs on the Island. We charge just £1 subs a night, and tuck is usually available during the evening. The programme includes club nights, special events, small groups, inter-club events with other Rock Solids on the Island and camps/weekends away. Each club night is crammed full of games, activities, competitions, group work times, videos and a short talk, all unpacking a weekly theme such as bullying, parents, self-image, fashion etc. In order to make Godshill Rock Solid Club a safe and fun environment for young people, the club comes under the umbrella organisation of “Isle of Wight Youth for Christ”, which is an Island-wide Christian youth work charity. As a club we follow their child-protection policy, (a copy of which can be obtained by calling them on IW 524083, or by asking one of the club’s leaders). The charity also trains and oversees all the leaders who help at the club, and ensures that everyone who is involved is processed by the Government’s Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS previously CRB). All enquires to Club Coordinator: Wendy Stubbings 01983 840381 or 07850 020515
